Works but needs careful calibration
The hardware is fine, but you really need to follow the calibration steps in the manual precisely, or the readings will drift. Once calibrated, it holds steady.

Good value, solid performance
Works well for the price point. It handles magnetic interference better than I expected for a budget sensor. Just make sure to keep it away from high-current wires on your frame.

Perfect for my Arduino robot project
This compass module is incredibly easy to set up. The documentation provided was clear, and I had it communicating with my Arduino within an hour. The readings are stable and accurate after a quick calibration.

Great for learning embedded systems
Bought this for a university robotics class. The UART output makes parsing data very straightforward. Highly recommend for students getting into sensor fusion.

Reliable heading data
I've tested this against a more expensive unit, and the variance is minimal. It's a great backup or primary sensor for hobbyist projects. Shipping was fast too.

Documentation saves time
Unlike many other modules where you have to hunt for datasheets, this one comes with clear instructions on command sets. Saved me a lot of debugging time.
Q: What is the baud rate for communication?
A: The default baud rate is 9600 bps, but it can be configured to other standard rates like 19200, 38400, or 115200 using the setup commands found in the documentation.
Q: Is the pin header soldered onto the board?
A: No, the pin header is included in the package but is not pre-soldered. This allows you to choose between straight or right-angle headers based on your mounting needs.
Q: Can this be used outdoors in the rain?
A: The module itself is not waterproof. If you plan to use it outdoors, you must enclose it in a waterproof case that does not contain ferromagnetic materials.
Q: Does this module work directly with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, it works with Raspberry Pi via the UART GPIO pins. You may need to enable the serial interface in the Raspberry Pi configuration settings.
Q: How do I perform the calibration?
A: Calibration involves rotating the module in all axes while sending specific calibration commands via serial. Detailed step-by-step instructions are provided in the included PDF documentation.
