Works but range is limited in sunlight
Indoors, these are fantastic. However, direct sunlight interferes with the IR signal significantly. Just keep that in mind if you plan to use them outdoors.

Reliable digital output
No noise in the signal. The transition between high and low states is sharp, which makes coding the logic very straightforward. Works great at 5V.

Perfect for my line-following robot
These sensors work flawlessly with my Arduino project. The adjustable sensitivity potentiometer makes it easy to calibrate for different surface colors. Highly recommended for beginners.

Good value, clear instructions needed
The module itself is high quality and responds quickly. I deducted one star because the pinout wasn't clearly labeled on the board, but a quick online search solved it.

Great for educational kits
Bought a pack for my son's science fair project. They are durable and easy to wire up. The infrared emission is strong enough for reliable obstacle detection.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (longer range) or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Q: What is the maximum current consumption?
A: The typical current consumption is approximately 20mA when the IR LED is active. Please refer to the datasheet for precise graphs under different voltages.
Q: Can this sensor detect black lines on a white floor?
A: Yes, absolutely. By adjusting the onboard potentiometer, you can calibrate the sensor to distinguish between black lines and white surfaces effectively.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V microcontrollers like the ESP8266?
A: Yes, the module operates within a 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with ESP8266, ESP32, and standard 5V Arduinos.
Q: Does it come with jumper wires?
A: The package includes the sensor module and a set of header pins for soldering. Jumper wires are not included but are sold separately in our accessories section.
