Perfect for beginner projects

Great for school projects
Bought this for a university sensor network project. It was easy to set up, though the response time is a bit slow compared to newer sensors like the DHT22.

Decent but limited range
Works fine indoors, but keep in mind the temperature limit stops at 50°C. If you need higher ranges, look elsewhere. Otherwise, solid performance.

Reliable digital output
The single-bus communication makes it very easy to interface. I've tested three units, and they all returned consistent readings within the expected tolerance.
Q: Which Arduino library works best with this module?
A: The standard 'DHT sensor library' by Adafruit is widely used and highly recommended for interfacing with this module.
Q: Does this come with a resistor already installed on the data line?
A: Most modules include a pull-up resistor on the PCB. However, if your specific board does not, you may need to add a 10k ohm resistor between VCC and the data pin.
Q: Can I use this outdoors in the rain?
A: No, this sensor is not waterproof. It should be housed in a ventilated but weather-proof enclosure if used outdoors.
Q: What is the maximum cable length recommended for the sensor?
A: For reliable digital signal transmission, we recommend keeping the cable length under 20 meters. Longer distances may require signal buffering.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic boards like the ESP8266?
A: Yes, the DHT11 operates between 3.3V and 5V, making it fully compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers.
