Perfect for my Arduino night light project
This module works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very smooth, allowing me to set the exact lux level where the switch triggers. Wiring was straightforward with clear labels for VCC, GND, and DO.

Works well for outdoor enclosure testing
Used this to trigger a fan inside a solar box when it gets too bright/hot. It responds quickly to shadows. Just make sure to protect the PCB from direct rain if using outdoors, as it is not waterproof.

Great for learning electronics

Good value, easy to use
Solid build quality for the price. I used it with a Raspberry Pi and it detected light changes instantly. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included pins were not soldered, but that's standard for these modules.

Reliable light detection
I bought five of these for a line-following robot that also needs ambient light sensing. All five units performed consistently. The LM393 comparator provides a clean digital output without jitter.
Q: Does the package include wires for connection?
A: The package includes the sensor module and a strip of male header pins that you need to solder onto the board yourself. Connection wires (jumper cables) are not included but are commonly available separately.
Q: What is the maximum current this module can switch?
A: The onboard comparator and transistor are designed for signal logic levels, not high power loads. You should use the output to trigger a relay or MOSFET if you intend to control high-current devices like motors or strong lamps.
Q: Can this module output an analog signal?
A: This specific module is designed primarily for digital output (High/Low) via the DO pin. However, some versions of this board layout include an AO pin for analog reading; please check your specific board layout. If only DO is present, it acts as a switch.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: Locate the blue potentiometer on the PCB. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (trigger in lower light) or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Test with a multimeter or LED indicator while changing light conditions.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V systems like ESP32?
