Reliable and sturdy

Fast response time
The photoelectric conversion speed is impressive. My robot can take corners at high speeds without losing the line. The LED indicators are bright and help greatly with debugging.

Great value, needs calibration
Works well once you spend time calibrating the potentiometers for your specific lighting conditions. The black-white detection is sharp. Just make sure to shield it from direct sunlight if used outdoors.

Good but sensitive to ambient light
Overall a solid product. It struggles a bit under very bright fluorescent lights unless you adjust the sensitivity carefully. Once tuned, it tracks the grayline perfectly.

Perfect for competition bots
This sensor module is incredibly responsive. The 5-channel setup allows my robot to navigate complex curves smoothly during the regional robotics contest. The red-line recognition works flawlessly on our specific track mats.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the PCB module only. Connecting wires or header pins are not included but can be easily soldered onto the designated pads for your custom wiring needs.
Q: Can this sensor detect red lines on a white background?
A: Yes, this module is specifically designed with photoelectric conversion capabilities to recognize both standard black-white lines and red lines on contrasting backgrounds.
Q: What is the optimal mounting height from the ground?
A: For best performance, we recommend mounting the sensor between 5mm and 15mm above the track surface. You may need to adjust this based on your specific potentiometer settings.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V microcontrollers like ESP32?
A: Absolutely. The module operates within a 3.3V to 5V DC range, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic systems such as the ESP32, as well as 5V systems like Arduino Uno.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity for different floor colors?
A: Each channel has a dedicated blue potentiometer. Use a small screwdriver to rotate it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it while monitoring the LED indicator.
