Superior to 5-channel modules
Upgraded from a 5-channel module and the difference in cornering speed is noticeable. The extra channels provide much better data for PID control algorithms. Very satisfied.

Great value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is excellent for the price. My son used it for his science fair robot. It works well on black tape, though we had to tweak the height slightly. Would buy again.

Bulk bought for our workshop
Purchased ten of these for our weekend robotics workshop. Every single unit worked out of the box. Consistent quality and great detection range for standard electrical tape lines.

Good performance, slight wiring hassle
The sensor performs exactly as described. The only minor issue was that the pin headers weren't pre-soldered, so I had to do that myself. Once connected, it worked flawlessly.

Robust and reliable
I've tested this on various surfaces and lighting conditions. As long as there is decent contrast, it locks onto the line immediately. The LEDs are bright and easy to see during debugging.

Perfect for my Arduino project
This 7-channel sensor is incredibly responsive. The line tracking is smooth and the adjustable sensitivity potentiometer made calibration a breeze. Highly recommended for robotics beginners.
Q: What is the optimal distance between the sensor and the floor?
A: For best results, we recommend mounting the sensor module approximately 10mm to 15mm above the tracking surface. You can adjust the sensitivity potentiometer if your setup varies.
Q: How do I calibrate the sensitivity for different lighting conditions?
A: Use the small blue potentiometer on the board. Rotate it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it until the indicator LEDs react correctly to your line under current lighting.
Q: Does this module work with 3.3V logic boards like the ESP32?
A: Yes, this sensor operates within a 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with ESP32, Arduino Uno, and Raspberry Pi GPIO pins without needing a level shifter.
Q: Are the headers included in the package?
A: The module comes with the PCB and components. Pin headers are usually included but may require soldering by the user unless specified as 'pre-soldered' in the specific listing variant.
Q: Can this detect colored lines or only black on white?
A: This is a grayscale infrared sensor designed primarily for high-contrast lines, typically black tape on a white background. It may struggle with low-contrast colors or reflective surfaces.
