Finally a sensor that lasts!
I've gone through so many resistive sensors that corroded within weeks. This capacitive module has been in my tomato planter for three months now with zero signs of rust. The readings are stable and easy to calibrate with my Arduino.

Best upgrade for my weather station
Replaced my old corroded sensors with these. The difference in longevity is night and day. The analog output is smooth and integrates easily with standard microcontrollers. Will be buying more for my other beds.

Perfect for automated watering
Integrated this into my ESP32 smart garden project. The wide voltage range makes it very flexible. It triggers my water pump perfectly when moisture drops below my set threshold. Highly recommended for automation projects.

Good but sensitive to placement
Works well overall. I noticed that if the sensor is too close to the plastic pot wall, readings can be slightly off. Once I moved it to the center of the soil mass, it worked flawlessly. Durable construction.

Stable readings
Very impressed by the stability of the output signal. There is very little noise compared to other modules I have tested. The PH2.0 connector is also a nice touch for clean wiring.

Great value, needs calibration
The build quality is excellent for the price. Unlike cheaper models, the gold plating looks solid. Just remember that you need to map the analog values to your specific soil type, as it doesn't give a direct percentage out of the box.
Q: Is the output digital or analog?
A: This specific model provides an analog output signal (0-3V) which corresponds to the moisture level. You will need to use an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) pin on your microcontroller to read the data.
Q: Do you provide sample code for Arduino?
A: Yes, we provide a link to a GitHub repository in the product manual that includes sample code for Arduino, ESP8266, and ESP32 to help you get started with reading moisture levels immediately.
Q: Does this sensor work directly with 3.3V logic boards like the ESP32?
A: Yes, this module operates on a wide voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic boards such as the ESP32 and Raspberry Pi without needing a level shifter.
Q: Can this be left in the soil permanently outdoors?
A: While the sensor prongs are corrosion-resistant and designed for long-term soil contact, the PCB board is not waterproof. If used outdoors, please ensure the board is protected from rain and direct sprinkler exposure.
Q: How deep should I insert the sensor into the soil?
A: For accurate readings, we recommend inserting the sensor vertically until the gold-plated prongs are fully submerged in the soil, but ensure the PCB board itself remains above the soil line to prevent water damage to the electronics.
