Excellent precision

Noise levels are incredibly low. After calibration, the drift is minimal. It handles high-frequency sampling without breaking a sweat. A solid upgrade for any serious motion tracking application.

Great sensor, minor documentation gap

The hardware quality is excellent and the form factor is compact. I deducted one star because the example code provided on the seller's site was a bit outdated, but the official Bosch datasheet cleared everything up.

Low power consumption as advertised

I am using this in a battery-powered wearable device. The low-power modes work exactly as described, significantly extending battery life compared to my old MPU6050 setup. Very satisfied with the performance.

Reliable and robust

Good value for money

Works well for my university thesis project. The breakout board pins are clearly labeled. Just make sure you use logic level shifters if your microcontroller runs at 5V, as this sensor is 3.3V.

Perfect for my drone project

The BMI160 module arrived quickly and was easy to integrate with my ESP32. The I2C communication is stable, and the data readings are very consistent even during rapid movements. Highly recommended for DIY stabilization projects.

Q: What is the maximum sampling rate?

A: The BMI160 supports a maximum sampling rate of up to 3.2 kHz for the gyroscope and 1.6 kHz for the accelerometer, allowing for high-speed motion capture applications.

Q: Can it measure tilt angles accurately?

A: Yes, by combining accelerometer data for static tilt and gyroscope data for dynamic movement (often via a Kalman or Complementary filter), you can achieve very accurate tilt and orientation measurements.

Q: Does this come with a library for Python?

A: While we do not provide an official proprietary library, there are several open-source Python libraries available for Raspberry Pi and other platforms that support the BMI160. We recommend checking GitHub for community-maintained drivers.

Q: Is this module compatible with Arduino Uno?

A: Yes, it is compatible. However, since the Arduino Uno operates at 5V logic and this sensor requires 3.3V, you will need a logic level converter or a breakout board with built-in regulation to connect it safely via I2C or SPI.

Q: What is the default I2C address?
