Good value but needs stable power
Great module overall. Just make sure you provide a clean 5V supply; otherwise, it might fail to initialize. Once powered correctly, the enrollment and matching processes are very reliable.

Perfect for my smart lock project

Works well after firmware update
Initially had some connection issues, but updating the firmware via the PC tool resolved them. Now it works great with my ESP32. Just be prepared to do a little troubleshooting out of the box.

Excellent sensitivity

Easy to integrate
The wiring is simple, and the documentation provided by the community is helpful. It occasionally struggles with very dry fingers, but that seems common for optical sensors in this range.

A: Yes, there are several open-source Python libraries available on GitHub specifically designed for interfacing the AS608 with Raspberry Pi via the GPIO UART pins. We recommend checking the 'pyfingerprint' repository.
