Perfect for my alarm project
This sensor works exactly as described. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, allowing me to fine-tune it for my specific vibration detection needs. Easy to wire up to my Arduino.

Works well after calibration
The sensor is quite sensitive out of the box. You definitely need to spend time adjusting the trimmer pot to avoid noise triggering it. Once set, it performs reliably.

Good value for money
Solid build quality for the price. It picks up vibrations well, though you need to experiment with the potentiometer to get the threshold right. Documentation could be slightly better.

Sensitive and reliable
I used this to detect when my washing machine finishes its cycle. Once calibrated, it hasn't given a false positive. The analog output makes it easy to integrate with any microcontroller.
Q: What is the maximum distance it can detect vibrations from?
A: This is a contact sensor, meaning it must be physically mounted on the surface you wish to monitor. It detects vibrations traveling through the material it is attached to, not through the air.
Q: Does this module output digital or analog signals?
A: This module outputs an analog signal proportional to the vibration intensity. However, many versions also include a digital output pin that goes high when vibration exceeds the adjusted threshold.
Q: Is there a library available for Arduino?
A: No specific library is required. You simply read the analog pin using the standard analogRead() function in your Arduino sketch and map the values to your logic.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?
A: There is a small blue potentiometer on the board. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it while testing with your multimeter or serial monitor.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a 3.3V microcontroller like ESP32?
A: Yes, the module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with ESP32, ESP8266, and 3.3V Arduino boards.
