Perfect for Arduino Heart Rate Projects
This module works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The signal quality is surprisingly clean for the price point. I was able to visualize the P-Q-R-S-T wave within minutes of connecting it. Great for educational purposes.

Good value, requires careful wiring
The sensor itself is excellent, but you need to ensure your electrode pads have good contact. Once I secured the connections properly, the noise dropped significantly. Ideal for prototyping wearable health devices.
Q: Can this be used directly with a 5V Arduino without a logic level converter?
A: Yes, the AD8232 module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, so it can be connected directly to a 5V Arduino board.
Q: Is this suitable for continuous 24/7 monitoring?
A: While the chip is robust, this specific breakout board is designed primarily for prototyping and short-term measurement. For continuous clinical use, a certified medical device is required.
Q: What type of filter does this sensor utilize?
A: The module features an integrated two-pole high-pass filter to eliminate motion artifacts and half-cell potential, along with a three-pole low-pass filter to remove unwanted noise.
Q: Does this module come with electrode pads included?
A: No, this listing is for the sensor module only. Electrode pads and connecting cables must be purchased separately.
Q: How many pins are needed to interface with a microcontroller?
A: For basic analog operation, you need three connections: Power (3.3V/5V), Ground, and Output. Additional pins are required if you wish to configure the shutdown or fast-restore features via GPIO.
