Son loves it!
Bought this for my 10-year-old son who just started lessons. He finds it easy to hold and play. The included bag is a nice bonus for carrying it to class safely.

Highly recommended for beginners
This is the standard entry-level Pipa for a reason. Durable, good sounding, and sized perfectly for children. Fast shipping from the specialty store too.

Beautiful finish and sound
The wood grain is gorgeous. It sounds bright and resonant. Only giving 4 stars because the strings were a bit loose on arrival, but easy to tighten.

Authentic Dunhuang quality

Perfect starter instrument for my daughter
We bought the Model 594 for our 7-year-old. The size is just right for her small hands, and the sound quality is surprisingly clear for a beginner instrument. It came well-packaged with a sturdy bag.

Good value, minor setup needed
The Pipa looks beautiful and feels solid. I had to adjust the bridge slightly upon arrival, but once set up, it plays very nicely. Great choice for youth students.
Q: Does this come with a hard case or just a soft bag?
A: This package includes a high-quality padded soft gig bag. Hard cases are available for purchase separately if you require extra protection for travel.
Q: What is the difference between models 594 and 597?
A: Model 594 is designed for younger children (ages 5-8) with a slightly smaller body, while model 597 is suited for older youth (ages 9-12) with a marginally larger scale length.
Q: Are the strings pre-installed and tuned?
A: Yes, the Pipa comes with strings pre-installed. However, due to shipping conditions, we recommend checking the tuning and making minor adjustments before the first play.
Q: Is this suitable for an adult with small hands?
A: While designed for youth, adults with smaller hands may find these models comfortable. However, for standard repertoire progression, a full-sized adult Pipa is generally recommended eventually.
