Not for strumming
These are excellent for single-note lines and lead playing, but I found them too stiff and small for rhythmic strumming on an acoustic guitar. Stick to thinner, larger picks for rhythm work.

Perfect for bass guitar too
Despite being marketed often for guitar, I use these on my 5-string bass. The thickness provides enough rigidity for clear note definition, and the small size helps me navigate between strings quickly.

The gold standard for speed
I have been using Jazz III picks for over a decade. This small turtle version offers the perfect grip and the pointed tip allows for incredible accuracy during fast solos. Highly recommended for metal and jazz players.

Great feel, but small
The tone is crisp and the material feels premium. However, if you have large hands, these might feel a bit too small compared to standard picks. Once you adjust your grip, though, they are fantastic.

Consistent quality
Every pick in the pack was identical in shape and thickness. No rough edges or inconsistencies. The tortoise shell pattern looks beautiful on stage under the lights.

My go-to pick
I tried many brands before settling on Dunlop Jazz III. The control you get with this specific small turtle model is unmatched. It never slips out of my fingers even during sweaty gigs.
Q: Is the surface glossy or matte?
A: The body of the pick has a matte finish to improve grip and prevent slipping, while the tip is polished to ensure smooth attack and reduced string noise.
Q: Are these picks made from real tortoise shell?
A: No, these are not made from real tortoise shell. They are made from high-quality celluloid designed to mimic the look and feel of genuine tortoise shell while complying with wildlife protection laws.
Q: What is the exact thickness of the Jazz III Small Turtle?
A: The Dunlop Jazz III Small Turtle pick has a thickness of 1.38 mm, providing a very rigid feel ideal for precise picking.
Q: Can I use these for heavy strumming on an acoustic guitar?
A: While you can use them, the Jazz III shape and 1.38 mm thickness are optimized for single-note precision and speed rather than broad strumming. You may prefer a thinner, larger pick for aggressive acoustic strumming.
Q: How many picks come in one package?
A: Each package contains 6 individual Dunlop Jazz III Small Turtle picks.
