Works well but requires careful dilution
The product does exactly what it promises. Just make sure to follow the dilution ratios strictly, or you might get residue. Great value for the volume.
Q: Does this solution affect the archival quality of the film?
A: No, FOTONAL is pH neutral and leaves no residue that would degrade the emulsion over time. It is safe for long-term archival storage.
Q: What is the recommended dilution ratio for standard tap water?
A: For most tap water conditions, we recommend a 1:200 dilution ratio (5ml of solution per 1 liter of water). Adjust slightly for extremely hard water.
Q: Is the bottle made from recyclable materials?
A: Yes, the bottle is made from HDPE plastic which is widely recyclable. Please check your local recycling guidelines for proper disposal.
Q: Can this be used with color negative film as well?
A: This specific formula is optimized for Black & White film. While it may work on color film, we recommend using our Color Safe variant for best results on C-41 processes.
Q: How long should I leave the film in the solution before hanging to dry?
A: A quick immersion of 30 to 60 seconds is sufficient. Gently agitate the tank or container during this time to ensure even coverage.
