Exceeded expectations
As a beginner to darkroom work, I found this kit very forgiving. The reversal bleach step worked exactly as described. My slides look professional enough to scan and print large formats. Highly recommended.

Best value for home slide processing
Sending film out for B&W slide processing is expensive and slow. This THD kit pays for itself after just three rolls. The blacks are deep, and the highlights retain nice detail without blowing out.

Great kit, watch the temperature
The chemistry works well, but you really need to maintain consistent water bath temperatures. My first roll was a bit foggy because I let the temp drop during the second development stage. Second roll was perfect though!

Perfect for experimental photography
I love projecting my own slides. This kit allows me to see my street photography projects in a completely new light. The chemical smell is manageable with good ventilation, and the waste disposal instructions were helpful.

Fantastic results on Ilford XP2
I was nervous about trying B&W reversal for the first time, but this kit made it incredibly straightforward. The slides came out with amazing contrast and sharpness. The instructions were clear, and the Colormax formula seems very stable.

Good consistency across batches
I've used two full kits now. The results are very consistent between batches. Only giving 4 stars because the measuring markings on the included cylinders are a bit faint and hard to read in low red-light conditions.
Q: Does this kit include the final wetting agent?
A: Yes, the Colormax Version includes a small bottle of wetting agent in the accessory pack to prevent water spots during the final rinse. You do not need to purchase Photo-Flo or similar products separately.
Q: Is a special tank required, or will a standard Paterson tank work?
A: A standard plastic or stainless steel developing tank (like Paterson, Jobo, or Kinema) works perfectly with this kit. No specialized equipment is needed beyond what is typically used for standard B&W negative development.
Q: How long do the mixed chemicals last if I don't use them all at once?
A: Once mixed, the working solutions are best used within 24 hours for optimal results. While some developers can be stored for a few days in airtight, full bottles, we recommend mixing only what you need for your immediate session to ensure consistent reversal quality.
Q: What is the difference between this and the standard D67 kit?
A: The Colormax Version features an updated formula that provides slightly higher contrast and better highlight separation specifically optimized for modern emulsion films, whereas the standard version is tuned for older film stocks.
Q: Can this kit be used for 120 medium format film?
A: No, this specific D67 Colormax version is formulated and sized strictly for 135 (35mm) film tanks. Using it for 120 film may result in insufficient chemical volume for proper agitation and coverage.
