Good value for the features
Setup was straightforward using the provided tools. It does exactly what it says regarding soft hook and signal detection. Wish the casing felt a bit more premium, but functionally it's solid.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The soft hook control is very responsive and the audio quality is clear. I deducted one star because the API examples in the SDK are a bit sparse, but support helped me out.

Reliable for 24/7 recording

A: Yes, the software-controlled hook allows you to answer and hang up calls programmatically. This is ideal for automated attendant systems or click-to-dial applications.
Q: What programming languages are supported in the Secondary Development Kit?
A: The SDK includes libraries and sample code for C++, C#, and Python. We also provide DLL files that can be called from most other languages supporting external library imports.
Q: Is there a limit to how many hours of audio can be recorded?
A: The device itself streams audio to your computer in real-time; it does not have internal storage. The recording duration is limited only by your computer's hard drive capacity and file system limits.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only analog PSTN?
A: The Zipei IP1-F is designed specifically for analog PSTN lines. It connects between the wall jack and your analog telephone. It is not compatible with direct digital VoIP connections without an ATA adapter.
