Perfect for our small office logging needs
We needed a simple way to log calls on our landline without expensive cloud subscriptions. This Zipei box works flawlessly with our Windows PCs. The pop-up feature lets us see who is calling before we pick up, and the recording quality is clear enough for our records.

Good for single line, not for multi-line systems
The device works exactly as described for a single telephone line. We tried to use it in a slightly more complex setup, and it struggled. For a standard home or single-line office environment, it is excellent. Just ensure your phone system compatibility first.

Solid value for money

Great hardware, SDK documentation could be better
As a developer, I bought this specifically for the secondary development capabilities. The hardware is solid and captures Caller ID data accurately. However, the SDK documentation is a bit sparse. Once I figured out the API calls, it integrated well into our custom CRM.

Clear recording quality
I was skeptical about the audio quality given the price point, but the recordings are surprisingly crisp. It handles both sides of the conversation well. The ability to save directly to WAV format makes archiving very easy.

Easy setup for elderly parents
I set this up for my parents so they can see large caller ID numbers on their computer screen when the phone rings. The installation was straightforward, and the driver installed automatically. They love knowing who is calling before answering.

A: The primary SDK is provided in C++ and C#, but many users have successfully created Python wrappers to interface with the DLL files for secondary development projects.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only traditional analog landlines?
A: This device is designed primarily for traditional analog PSTN landlines. It may not function correctly with pure VoIP connections unless used with an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) that outputs standard FSK/DTMF signals.
Q: What is the maximum storage capacity for recorded calls?
A: The device does not have internal storage; it streams recordings directly to your PC's hard drive. Therefore, the storage limit depends entirely on your computer's available disk space.
Q: Does the package include the telephone cable to connect to the wall jack?
A: Yes, the package includes a standard RJ11 telephone cable to connect the device between your wall jack and your telephone handset, along with the USB cable for PC connection.
Q: Can I view the caller ID pop-up on a second monitor?
