Works well but driver installation was tricky
The hardware itself seems solid and does what it promises. However, getting the drivers to recognize the device on Windows 11 required some troubleshooting with support. Once installed, it has been stable for three months.

Reliable call collector

Perfect for our small office logging needs
We needed a simple way to log incoming calls without buying an expensive PBX system. This Zipei box works flawlessly with our existing landline and pops up the caller ID on the receptionist's screen immediately. Setup took less than 10 minutes.

Great SDK for custom integration
Bought this specifically for the secondary development capabilities. The API documentation is decent, and I was able to integrate call logs into our internal CRM within a day. Deducting one star because the sample code is a bit outdated, but it still works.

Essential for quality assurance
We use these boxes on three different lines to monitor customer interactions for training purposes. The pop-up screen feature helps agents see history before answering. Very satisfied with the purchase and the price point.
Q: Does the pop-up screen work if the computer is locked?
A: No, for security reasons, the pop-up notification will not display on the screen if the computer is in a locked state. The call will still be logged and recorded in the background, but the visual alert requires an active user session.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP phone services like Vonage or Ooma?
A: This device is designed primarily for traditional analog PSTN landlines. While it may work if connected to the analog port of an ATA adapter used by VoIP providers, compatibility is not guaranteed for all VoIP setups. We recommend testing with your specific adapter.
Q: What is the maximum length of a single call recording?
A: The recording duration is limited only by your available hard drive space. There is no artificial time limit imposed by the device or the software for a single call session.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python or only C++?
A: The native SDK is provided in C++ and C#, but many developers have successfully created Python wrappers to interface with the DLLs for secondary development projects.
Q: Can I export the recorded calls to Excel or CSV format?
A: Yes, the accompanying software allows you to export call logs, including date, time, duration, and caller ID, to CSV format which can be opened in Excel. The audio files are saved separately as WAV or MP3.
