Good value for bulk polishing
Solid product for the price. It takes a few cycles to get the high shine on harder stones like quartz, but for jade and softer gemstones, it is very efficient. Will buy again.

Great results after breaking in
Needed to run it empty for an hour to remove initial dust, but after that, the polishing performance was excellent. My agate and jasper pieces look amazing.

Perfect for my jade batches
This walnut media works exactly as described. I used it in my vibratory tumbler with a bit of oxide polish, and my jade pieces came out with a fantastic shine. The grit size is consistent, and there wasn't too much dust.

Clean and effective
I appreciate that this media is clean and doesn't have large chunks that could scratch delicate stones. My finished beads look professional and ready for sale.

Best media for natural finish
If you want a natural, high-gloss look without synthetic plastics, this is the way to go. It handles bulk grinding well and extends the life of my polishing compounds.

Excellent consistency
Been using walnut shells for years, and this batch is one of the best. Uniform size means even polishing across all stones in the barrel. Highly recommended for lapidary work.
Q: Do I need to add water when using this media?
A: Yes, a small amount of water is typically required along with a polishing compound to create the slurry necessary for effective burnishing and shining.
Q: How many times can I reuse the same batch of media?
A: Depending on the hardness of the stones and the duration of cycles, you can typically reuse the media 5 to 10 times before it breaks down too much to be effective.
Q: Can this be used in a rotary tumbler or only vibratory?
A: This walnut shell media is suitable for both rotary and vibratory tumblers, though it achieves faster results in vibratory machines due to the friction action.
Q: Is this safe to use for stones intended for jewelry worn by children?
A: Yes, our walnut shell media is non-toxic and biodegradable. However, we always recommend thoroughly washing the stones after polishing to remove any residual compound or dust.
Q: What mesh size is best for pre-polishing vs final shine?
A: This 20/40 mesh is ideal for the final polishing stage. For pre-polishing or removing heavier scratches, we recommend starting with a coarser ceramic or silicon carbide media first.
