Perfect upgrade for abrasive filaments
I switched to this hardened steel nozzle assembly specifically for printing carbon fiber PLA, and it has been flawless. The ceramic heater block maintains temperature much more consistently than the stock aluminum one. Installation took about 20 minutes.

Great quality, instructions could be better
The build quality of the hotend is excellent. It feels very sturdy and the fit on my Kobra 3 was precise. I deducted one star because the included paper instructions were a bit vague regarding wire routing, but online videos helped clarify.

Solved my clogging issues
I was constantly getting clogs with my old setup when printing at higher speeds. This V2 assembly with the ceramic block has completely eliminated that problem. My print success rate has gone up significantly since installing this.

Excellent thermal performance
The heat retention on this unit is impressive. I can print ABS without an enclosure now and get great layer adhesion. The hardened steel nozzle shows no signs of wear after 2kg of filament.

Good product but pricey
It works exactly as advertised and the print quality is top-notch. However, I feel the price point is a little high compared to buying the components separately. Still, the convenience of a pre-assembled unit is nice.

Robust and reliable
As someone who prints engineering prototypes daily, reliability is key. This upgraded extruder assembly has run for over 100 hours without a single hiccup. The ceramic insulation really helps with energy efficiency too.
Q: What tools are needed for installation?
A: You will typically need a hex key set (usually 2mm and 2.5mm) and a small wrench or pliers to remove the old nozzle. A pair of tweezers is also helpful for managing the wires.
Q: Will this increase the maximum printing speed of my printer?
A: The improved thermal stability of the ceramic heater block allows for more consistent melting at higher flow rates, which can enable faster printing speeds without compromising quality, provided your printer's mechanics can handle the speed.
Q: Can I use this nozzle to print pure metal filaments?
A: While the hardened steel nozzle is durable, we do not recommend printing pure metal filaments as they require specialized industrial extruders. This unit is best suited for PLA, PETG, ABS, and composite filaments like carbon fiber or wood fill.
Q: Does the package include a silicone sock?
A: Yes, the package includes one high-temperature silicone sock to help maintain consistent heat and protect the heater block from cooling fans.
Q: Is this compatible with the original Anycubic Kobra or only the Kobra 3?
A: This specific V2 assembly is designed exclusively for the Anycubic Kobra 3. It is not compatible with the original Kobra or Kobra 2 models due to different mounting brackets and wiring harnesses.
