Excellent precision
As a luthier, I have installed hundreds of tuners. These offer excellent precision for the price point. The gear ratio allows for very fine adjustments, which is crucial for nylon strings.

Smooth operation and great value
Replaced the old plastic tuners on my student guitar with these. The difference in tuning stability is night and day. The closed gear mechanism feels very smooth and holds pitch well.

Solid build quality
Very heavy and solid feeling. The weight actually helps balance the neck slightly better than the cheap plastic ones I had before. Deducting one star only because the screws provided were a bit soft.

Perfect replacement set

Good upgrade for vintage instruments
These fit perfectly on my 1990s classical guitar. The chrome finish matches the original hardware nicely. Installation took about 20 minutes. One knob cap was slightly loose but tightened up fine.

Q: What is the difference between the open and closed gear options listed?
A: Functionally they are similar, but closed gears protect the internal mechanism from dust and moisture, requiring less maintenance. Open gears are traditional and easier to clean manually if debris gets in.
Q: Will these fit a guitar with 12mm holes?
A: These tuners are designed for standard 10mm mounting holes. If your guitar has 12mm holes, you may need to use bushings or fill and re-drill the holes for a secure fit.
Q: Are the knob caps removable if I prefer the bare roller?
A: Yes, the black plastic knob caps are press-fit and can be removed easily if you prefer the look and feel of the bare metal rollers.
Q: Is this set suitable for left-handed guitars?
A: This specific set is configured for right-handed headstocks. We do carry a mirrored version specifically designed for left-handed classical guitars in our store.
Q: Do I need any special tools to install these?
A: You will typically need a small Phillips head screwdriver for the screws and possibly a reamer if your existing holes are not perfectly round or sized. No soldering or glue is required.
