Perfect for corona treatment checks
Exactly what we needed to verify our corona treater settings. The fluid spreads evenly when the surface energy is sufficient and beads up when it is not. Highly recommended.
Q: Can I return the pens if I ordered the wrong dyne levels?
A: Due to safety regulations regarding flammable liquids, we cannot accept returns on opened dyne pens. If the package is unopened and in original condition, please contact our customer service within 14 days to arrange an exchange.
Q: What is the difference between the 38 and 40 dyne pens?
A: The number indicates the surface energy level in millinewtons per meter (mN/m). You select the pen that matches the required surface tension for your specific printing or bonding process. If the liquid beads up, the surface energy is lower than the pen's rating.
Q: Does this product come with a calibration certificate?
A: As an authorized distributor, our Schuman pens are manufactured to strict standards. While individual pens do not typically come with a unique calibration certificate, the batch meets ISO-compliant manufacturing specifications for dyne test fluids.
Q: How should these pens be stored to maintain shelf life?
A: Store the pens upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure the cap is tightly sealed immediately after use to prevent the test fluid from evaporating or absorbing moisture.
Q: Are these pens suitable for testing metal surfaces?
A: While primarily designed for plastics, films, and foils, they can technically be used on coated metals. However, bare metals usually have very high surface energy, so lower dyne level pens may always spread, making them less useful for differentiation on untreated metal.
