Solid build quality
The PCB looks professional and the soldering points are clean. Audio output is crisp. I deducted one star only because the included header pins were slightly bent upon arrival, but easily fixed.

Exceeded expectations
Using this for a smart home notification system. The amplifier drives a small 4-ohm speaker perfectly without distortion. Compact size fits easily into my 3D printed enclosure.

Perfect for Arduino Audio Projects
This module is incredibly easy to integrate with my Arduino Uno. The sound quality from the 8002 chip is surprisingly clear for such a small component. Great for alarms or simple voice prompts.

Good value, minor heat issue
Works exactly as described. The gravity connector makes wiring foolproof. It does get slightly warm at max volume after extended use, but nothing concerning for hobby projects.

Great for learning electronics
Bought this for a university project. The documentation on the DFRobot wiki was helpful, and the module worked on the first try. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Reliable and Loud
I've used this in three different robot builds now. The volume is sufficient for noisy environments, and the fidelity is much better than standard piezo buzzers. Highly recommended.
Q: What library is needed for Arduino?
A: No specific library is required for basic operation. You simply use the standard analogWrite() function on a PWM-capable pin to control volume and tone.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, but ensure you connect the signal pin to a PWM-enabled GPIO pin on the Pi. Also, verify voltage levels; while 3.3V logic usually works, a level shifter is safer for long-term reliability.
Q: Can this module drive an 8-ohm speaker?
A: Yes, it can drive 8-ohm speakers, though the output power will be slightly lower compared to a 4-ohm load. It is optimized for 4-ohm speakers for maximum efficiency.
Q: Is a separate power supply required?
A: For low-volume applications, the 5V from the microcontroller is sufficient. For maximum volume (3W), we recommend an external 5V power source to prevent resetting your microcontroller.
Q: Does this support stereo output?
A: No, this specific model is a mono amplifier channel. If you need stereo, you would need to purchase two modules.
