Perfect hybrid set for versatility
I love this specific gauge combination. The lighter top strings make bending effortless for solos, while the heavier bottom strings provide a solid rhythm foundation without feeling floppy. The NYXL technology really does seem to hold tune better than my old sets.

Great sound, slightly pricey
The tone is fantastic—very clear and articulate with great sustain. My only hesitation is the price point compared to generic brands, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of longevity and tuning stability.

Solid choice for gigging musicians
I use these for weekend gigs and they last through several shows before needing a change. They resist corrosion well even under hot stage lights. Would give 5 stars if they came in a bulk pack option.

Best strings for my Stratocaster
These fit my Fender perfectly. The break-in period was almost non-existent; they sounded great within an hour of installation. The high E string feels smooth under the fingers and doesn't snag on the nut.

Excellent for drop tunings
Even though these start at .09, the heavier low end handles occasional drop-D tuning very well without losing too much tension. Very impressed with the engineering behind the NYXL line.

Consistent quality as always
D'Addario never disappoints. These strings arrived fresh, sounded bright immediately, and have maintained their tone after three weeks of daily playing. The packaging was secure and the individual string envelopes are a nice touch for storage.
Q: How long do these strings typically last before losing their brightness?
A: Lifespan varies by playing style and environment, but the NYXL high-carbon steel core generally offers 20% longer life and better tuning stability than standard nickel strings. Many players report 3-4 weeks of regular play before noticing significant tone degradation.
Q: Will these work on a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system?
A: Absolutely. These strings feature standard ball ends that are fully compatible with Floyd Rose and other locking tremolo systems, provided your guitar is set up for light to hybrid gauges.
Q: Does this set include both the EXL120 and EXL110 gauges?
A: Yes, this is a custom hybrid set that combines the lighter top three strings from the EXL120 (Super Light) set with the heavier bottom three strings from the EXL110 (Regular Light) set.
Q: Are these strings coated or uncoated?
A: These D'Addario NYXL/EXL strings are uncoated. They feature a natural nickel-plated steel finish designed for maximum brightness and dynamic response.
Q: What is the actual breakdown of the string gauges in this pack?
A: The specific gauges included in this hybrid set are: .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, and .042.
