Solid core board, minor documentation gaps
The hardware quality is excellent and the chip runs fast. I deducted one star because the included schematic could be more detailed, but community resources filled the gap quickly.

Great for prototyping industrial controls

Perfect for learning embedded systems

Good performance, compact size
Very small form factor which fits well into tight enclosures. The 168MHz speed is noticeable compared to older AVR boards. Just make sure you have a 3.3V logic analyzer if needed.

Best budget option for university projects
Bought this for my final year project. It connects easily via SWD and the USB boot mode makes flashing firmware very convenient. No issues so far after weeks of testing.
Q: Is this compatible with Arduino IDE?
A: While primarily designed for STM32CubeIDE and Keil, it is possible to use the Arduino IDE by installing the appropriate STM32duino board package, though some advanced peripherals may require direct register access.
Q: Does this board come with a built-in programmer/debugger?
A: No, this is a core board and does not include an onboard ST-Link debugger. You will need an external ST-Link V2 or similar programmer to flash code via the SWD interface.
Q: Does it support FreeRTOS?
A: Yes, the STM32F407ZGT6 chip fully supports FreeRTOS. You can easily integrate it using the STM32CubeMX tool to generate the initial project structure with RTOS enabled.
Q: What is the maximum current this board can supply to external sensors?
A: The 3.3V pin can typically supply up to 300mA depending on the input voltage and heat dissipation, but we recommend powering high-current external devices separately to ensure stability.
