NPU performance is outstanding
Bought this specifically for edge AI inference. The 6 TOPS NPU handles YOLOv8 models smoothly without breaking a sweat. The thermal management is also surprisingly good even under load.

Best value dev board in this class
Compared to other RK3588 boards on the market, the Wildfire offering provides better connector accessibility and a more complete software stack out of the box. Ubuntu runs very snappy.

Perfect for industrial prototyping
We needed a board with robust I/O and high compute power for a vision inspection system. The Wildfire Luban Cat 4 delivered. The documentation is clear, and the Linux image stability has been excellent over two weeks of continuous testing.

Incredible performance upgrade from Pi 5
The RK3588S2 on this board is a beast. I migrated my home server project from a Raspberry Pi 5, and the difference in compilation speed and video transcoding is night and day. The 8K output works flawlessly with my monitor.

Solid choice for student robotics
We equipped our university robotics team with these. The multiple camera interfaces allow for complex sensor fusion projects. Only minor issue was the initial setup of the GPIO libraries, but support helped us resolve it quickly.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
Hardware quality is top-notch, and the build quality of the base board feels premium. However, if you are used to the massive Raspberry Pi community, be prepared to dig deeper into Rockchip forums for specific driver tweaks. Still, worth it for the NPU capabilities.
Q: What AI frameworks are supported on the NPU?
A: The NPU supports TensorFlow, PyTorch (via ONNX), Caffe, and DarkNet. We provide an RKNN Toolkit for model conversion and optimization specifically for the Rockchip NPU.
Q: Does this board support dual 4K displays simultaneously?
A: Yes, the Wildfire Luban Cat 4 supports dual independent 4K@60Hz outputs via its dual HDMI 2.1 ports, or even mixed configurations like one 8K and one 4K display.
Q: Does the kit come with a cooling fan or heatsink?
A: The standard kit includes a large aluminum heatsink. An active cooling fan module is available as an optional accessory, which is recommended for sustained high-load applications like 8K video encoding.
Q: Is the source code for the BSP available?
A: Absolutely. We provide full open-source BSP (Board Support Package) including U-Boot, Kernel, and rootfs build scripts on our official GitHub repository linked in the product wiki.
Q: Can I power this board via the GPIO pins instead of USB-C?
A: Yes, the base board includes a dedicated 5V DC power input pin header. Please ensure your power supply can deliver at least 4A to handle peak loads during intensive tasks.
