Best board for remote controlled cars
We used five of these for our robotics club's summer workshop. Every single board worked out of the box. The latency for the smart car control is negligible.

Solid performance, runs a bit warm
The board performs well under continuous load. I noticed it gets slightly warm when transmitting data continuously, so I added a small heatsink for my enclosed project case.

A: Absolutely. The ESP8266 chip supports OTA updates, allowing you to upload new sketches wirelessly without needing a physical USB connection after the initial setup.

A: Yes, we provide a comprehensive PDF guide and video links on our product support page that walk you through downloading the app and pairing it with the board step-by-step.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the GPIO pins?
A: Each GPIO pin can source or sink up to 12mA safely. The total current drawn by all GPIO pins combined should not exceed 200mA to prevent damage to the chip.
Q: Is this board compatible with the standard Arduino IDE?
A: Yes, the WiFiduino is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE. You simply need to add the ESP8266 board manager URL to your preferences to get started.
Q: Can I power this board directly from a 9V battery?
A: While the VIN pin can accept a range of voltages, we recommend using a regulated 5V source or a USB connection for stable performance. A 9V battery may cause overheating if connected directly to the 5V pin.
