Ideal for Learning Embedded AI
I bought this for a university project on edge computing. The performance is surprising for the price point. The touchscreen library examples worked out of the box with Arduino IDE.

Great Hardware, Documentation Could Be Better
The board itself is excellent quality. The capacitive touch is very smooth. However, finding specific pinout diagrams for the microphones took some digging in the wiki. Overall, highly recommended for experienced users.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython?
A: Yes, the ESP32-S3 chip fully supports MicroPython. You can flash the firmware via USB and start coding immediately.
Q: Does it come with a case or enclosure?
A: No, the package includes only the development board and a USB-C cable. Cases are sold separately or can be 3D printed using files found online.
Q: Is the touchscreen resistive or capacitive?
A: This model features a capacitive touchscreen, which offers better clarity and multi-touch support compared to resistive screens.
Q: Can I power this with a 3.7V LiPo battery directly?
A: Absolutely. There is a dedicated JST connector on the board specifically designed for 3.7V LiPo batteries, and it includes charging circuitry via USB-C.
Q: What libraries are needed for the dual microphones?
A: You can use the standard ESP-IDF I2S drivers or specific Waveshare example codes available on their GitHub repository to access the dual microphone array.
