Best board for computer vision experiments
I am using this for edge AI projects. The combination of the ARM processor and FPGA logic allows for real-time image processing that a standard Raspberry Pi just can't match. Highly recommended for students and researchers.

Community support is amazing

Perfect for learning FPGA and Python integration
This board is exactly what I needed to get started with the PYNQ framework. The pre-loaded image works flawlessly, and the documentation is clear. Being able to program the FPGA fabric using Python notebooks is a game changer for rapid prototyping.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
The build quality of the TUL board is excellent, and all headers are clearly labeled. However, if you are new to Zynq architecture, be prepared to spend some time reading the wikis. Once you get past the initial setup, it's a powerful tool.

Solid board, minor shipping delay
The product itself is genuine and works as advertised. The only reason for 4 stars is that shipping took a bit longer than expected. Once it arrived, setup was straightforward following the official guides.

Excellent value for industrial prototyping
We used this for a proof-of-concept in our industrial control project. The GPIO accessibility via the Arduino and PMOD headers made interfacing with sensors very easy. The Ethernet performance is also solid for data logging applications.
Q: Does this board come with a power adapter included?
A: The board typically comes with a USB cable for power and data, but a dedicated 5V/2A wall adapter is not always included in the box. We recommend using a high-quality 5V adapter if you plan to connect power-hungry peripherals.
Q: Can I use Vivado with this board?
A: Yes, absolutely. While PYNQ allows for Python-based development, you can still use Xilinx Vivado to create custom hardware blocks (IP) and export them to be used within the PYNQ environment.
Q: Does this work with Windows 10/11 directly?
A: The PYNQ framework runs on a Linux-based OS (Ubuntu). You cannot run the PYNQ image directly on Windows. However, you can access the board's web interface and Jupyter notebooks from a Windows browser over the network, or use a virtual machine.
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported for HDMI output?
A: The PYNQ-Z2 supports HDMI output up to 1080p at 60Hz. Please note that you may need to configure the display settings in the Linux terminal or via the notebook interface depending on your monitor.
Q: Is the eMMC storage expandable or replaceable?
A: The onboard 16GB eMMC is soldered and not replaceable. However, the board features a MicroSD card slot which can be used to boot alternative images or store additional data, effectively expanding your storage capacity.
