Solid board, minor heat under load
Using this for a prototype industrial controller. It handles the logic perfectly, though it does get slightly warm when driving multiple peripherals at max clock speed. A small heatsink solved it.

Great for learning embedded systems

Perfect upgrade for IoT projects
The built-in Wi-Fi on the Pico 2 W makes connecting my sensors to the cloud incredibly easy. The performance boost over the original Pico is noticeable when running complex MicroPython scripts.

Powerful dual-core performance
The RP2350 chip is a beast. Being able to dedicate one core to Wi-Fi handling and the other to real-time control logic simplifies my architecture significantly. Just wish it had more SRAM.

Q: Can I power this directly from a 3.7V LiPo battery?
A: Yes, you can connect a LiPo battery to the VSYS pin. The board accepts input voltages between 1.8V and 5.5V, making it ideal for portable battery-powered projects.
Q: Is the flash memory expandable?
A: The 4MB flash is soldered directly onto the board and cannot be replaced or expanded internally. However, you can attach external SPI flash chips to the GPIO pins if your project requires more storage.
Q: Does this board support Bluetooth connectivity?
A: No, the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W specifically features Wi-Fi only. If you need Bluetooth, please look for the standard Pico W or other models in the series that include BLE.
Q: What software do I need to install to start coding?
A: You don't necessarily need to install heavy IDEs. You can use the Thonny IDE, which comes bundled with MicroPython support, or simply use a text editor and drag the .uf2 file onto the board when it appears as a USB drive.
