Excellent for university projects
Used this for my final year capstone project involving IoT data logging. The board handled everything I threw at it. The USB-C debugging makes life so much easier than older JTAG dongles.

Solid for evaluation purposes
We purchased several units for evaluating OpenHarmony in our factory automation line. The stability is good under continuous operation. The only downside is the limited flash memory for very large applications, but sufficient for most control tasks.

Best board for Python on HarmonyOS
As someone transitioning from Arduino to more advanced OS-based boards, this was intuitive. The pre-loaded Python libraries make interacting with sensors incredibly easy. Love the compact form factor.

NearLink technology is a game changer
I was skeptical about NearLink, but the low latency compared to standard BLE is noticeable. Using this for a smart home sensor network and it handles multiple nodes without dropping packets. Excellent value.

Perfect for OpenHarmony Learning
This board is exactly what I needed to get started with OpenHarmony. The Python support works flawlessly, and the NearLink connectivity is surprisingly fast and stable. Documentation could be slightly better, but the community is helpful.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
The HiSilicon chip performs well for IoT prototypes. Setting up the PEP edition environment took some time if you aren't familiar with the toolchain, but once running, it's very robust. Highly recommend for industrial control experiments.
Q: How do I update the OpenHarmony firmware?
A: Firmware updates can be performed via the USB-C port using the HiBurn tool or over-the-air (OTA) once the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network and registered with your management server.
Q: Can I use this board with Windows IDEs?
A: Yes, you can use DevEco Studio on Windows, macOS, or Linux. We also provide VS Code extensions for lightweight Python development on all major operating systems.
Q: What is the range of the NearLink connection?
A: In open environments, NearLink StarFlash can reach up to 300 meters depending on antenna configuration and interference, significantly outperforming standard Bluetooth in range and throughput.
Q: Is there a camera interface available on the GPIO?
A: The current PEP edition does not have a dedicated high-speed CSI camera interface, but you can connect low-resolution SPI cameras using the available GPIO pins for basic image capture tasks.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython or only standard Python?
A: This board supports a tailored version of Python 3.8 optimized for OpenHarmony, which includes most standard MicroPython features along with specific HarmonyOS APIs.
