Perfect for compact IoT projects
This board is incredibly small yet packs all the power of the standard ESP32. The onboard USB chip works flawlessly with my Linux machine without needing extra drivers. Great for wearable tech.

Great value, minor pin labeling issue
The performance is excellent for the price. Wi-Fi range is solid. I deducted one star because some of the GPIO pin labels on the silkscreen are a bit faint, but once mapped out, it works perfectly.

Easy to set up with Arduino IDE
Plug and play experience. I had the blink example running within 5 minutes. The form factor fits perfectly into my custom 3D printed enclosures where larger boards wouldn't fit.

Best mini ESP32 variant I've tried
I have tested several mini boards, and this one has the most consistent upload speeds. The build quality feels robust despite the tiny size. Will definitely buy more for my next batch of sensors.

Solid board, gets warm under load
Functionality is top-notch. Note that it does get slightly warm when using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously at high transmission powers, but nothing concerning for normal operation.

Reliable for industrial prototyping
We used these for rapid prototyping in our lab. The stability of the connection and the dual-core processing speed handle our sensor data logging tasks without any lag. Highly recommended.
Q: Which USB driver do I need for the CP2104 version?
A: For the CP2104 variant, you will need to install the Silicon Labs CP210x Universal Windows Driver available on their official website.
Q: Is this compatible with the ESP32-C3?
A: No, this board is based on the dual-core ESP32 (Xtensa LX6), not the RISC-V based ESP32-C3. While code may be portable, the architecture and pinout differ.
Q: Can I power this board directly with 3.3V?
A: It is recommended to power the board via the 5V Micro USB or VIN pin to allow the onboard regulator to function correctly. Direct 3.3V injection bypasses the regulator and can be risky if not precisely regulated.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard LDO regulator can typically supply up to 600mA, but for stability, we recommend keeping the load on the 3.3V pin under 400mA.
Q: Does this board support external antennas?
A: No, this MINI D1 version utilizes the onboard PCB antenna only. It does not have an IPEX connector for external antennas.
