Robust and versatile
We have deployed about 30 of these units for our robotics club. They handle being dropped and plugged/unplugged frequently without issues. The edge connector makes it easy to hook up external sensors and motors.

Seamless transition from blocks to Python
I love how the MakeCode editor lets you toggle between block view and Python view instantly. It helps visualize how the blocks translate into real code. The microphone sensitivity is also quite good for sound-activated projects.

Fun learning experience
As an adult beginner, I found this surprisingly fun. The documentation online is extensive. The only downside is that the LED matrix resolution is low, but that is expected for this form factor.

Excellent classroom tool
We use these in our middle school STEM program. The durability is impressive, and the Bluetooth connectivity allows for some really creative wireless projects. Highly recommend for educators.

Perfect for introducing kids to coding
Bought this for my 10-year-old son who is just starting to learn Python. The graphical programming interface makes it very easy to understand logic before moving to text-based code. The built-in speaker and microphone are great additions compared to the older version.

Great hardware, wish batteries were included
The board itself is fantastic and the upgrade to the M4 processor makes a noticeable difference in performance. Only giving 4 stars because the battery pack is included but the actual AAA batteries are not, which halted our first project until we ran to the store.

A: The v2.2 features minor hardware revisions for improved stability and manufacturing efficiency, but functionally it offers the same specs as the v2.0, including the speaker, microphone, and M4 processor.
Q: Does this kit come with the batteries needed to run it wirelessly?
A: The kit includes the battery holder pack, but you will need to purchase two AAA batteries separately to power the device wirelessly.
Q: Is this compatible with the original micro:bit accessories?
A: Yes, the micro:bit v2.2 maintains the same form factor and edge connector pinout, so most accessories designed for the original v1 will work perfectly.
Q: Can I program this using an iPad or tablet?
A: Absolutely. You can use the web-based MakeCode editor or the Python Editor on any device with a modern browser, including iPads and Android tablets, via Bluetooth or USB.
Q: Do I need to install any drivers to use this on Windows 10?
A: No special drivers are required. When you connect the board via USB-C, it appears as a removable drive, and you can drag and drop your code files directly onto it.
