Good value for industrial use
We use these for prototyping various cordless tools. They are consistent and durable. Only giving 4 stars because the mounting holes are a bit tight for some standard screws.

Great for e-bike conversion
Used this for a small e-bike project. The 21V output is stable under load. The industrial-grade components feel much sturdier than cheaper alternatives I've tried before.

Solid performance, needs careful assembly
The board handles high current very well without overheating. Just make sure you have good welding skills for the nickel strips. The instructions could be slightly more detailed, but overall a great product for the price.

Excellent balancing capability
The active balancing keeps all my cell voltages within 0.01V of each other. This extends the life of the battery pack significantly. A must-have for serious developers.

Reliable protection circuit
I've tested the over-discharge and short-circuit protection, and it trips exactly as expected. It gives me peace of mind when using expensive lithium cells in my workshop tools.
Q: Is a cooling fan required for operation at 30A continuous current?
A: Under normal ambient temperatures, the PCB acts as a heatsink and does not require a fan. However, for enclosed spaces or high ambient heat, additional ventilation is advised.
Q: What is the low-voltage cutoff threshold for this board?
A: The over-discharge protection typically triggers at approximately 2.5V per cell, cutting off the total output to prevent damage to the lithium cells.
Q: Does this come with a casing or just the bare board?
A: This product includes only the bare PCB module. You will need to source or 3D print your own casing compatible with the Makita LXT style form factor.
Q: Can I use this with 18650 cells that have different capacities?
A: It is strongly recommended to use cells with matching capacity, age, and internal resistance to ensure the balancing function works effectively and to maintain safety.
