Perfect for Home Router Projects
The dual 2.5G ports make this board incredible for building a high-performance soft router. The RK3588 chip handles packet forwarding without breaking a sweat. Setup with OpenWrt was straightforward.

Great Performance, Runs Warm
Performance is top-notch for the price point. 8K video playback is smooth on Android. However, it does get quite warm under full load, so I highly recommend adding a heatsink or active cooling.

Compact and Powerful
The form factor is tiny yet packs a punch. Having three ethernet ports distinguishes it from many other SBCs in this category. Highly recommended for edge computing applications.

Good for Learning Embedded Systems
Bought this for my university project. The community support is helpful. Only giving 4 stars because the power cable included felt a bit short for my setup, but the board itself is fantastic.

Ideal Media Server
Using this as a lightweight media server with an NVMe SSD attached via the M.2 slot. Transcoding capabilities are impressive, and the gigabit ethernet ensures no buffering on my local network.
Q: Is there official support for Docker containers?
A: Yes, when running Linux distributions like Debian or Ubuntu, you can easily install and run Docker containers leveraging the ARM64 architecture of the RK3588.
Q: Can I boot directly from an NVMe SSD?
A: Yes, the board features an M.2 Key-M slot that supports NVMe SSDs, and you can configure the system to boot directly from the drive.
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported by the HDMI port?
A: The HDMI 2.1 port supports output resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz, making it suitable for high-definition digital signage or media centers.
Q: Does this board support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
A: No, the NanoPi R6S does not have built-in PoE support. It must be powered via the USB Type-C port using a 5V/4A adapter.
Q: Is a cooling fan included in the package?
A: The standard package includes the board and basic accessories. A heatsink is often pre-attached, but an active cooling fan is usually sold separately or as part of a specific kit version.
