Perfect for IoT prototypes
These modules are incredibly reliable for my home automation projects. The ESP-01S version with the extra flash memory makes flashing firmware much smoother. Great value for the price.

Good but needs a converter
The module works great once you get it set up. Just remember you need a 3.3V USB-to-TTL converter; do not connect directly to 5V or it might get damaged. Instructions could be clearer for beginners.

Inconsistent batch quality
Most of the modules in my order worked fine, but two out of ten failed to enter programming mode. When they work, they are excellent, but quality control seems slightly variable.

Compact and powerful
I've used dozens of these in various sensor nodes. They hold a stable Wi-Fi connection and the small form factor fits easily into tight enclosures. Highly recommended for embedded systems.

Solid performance
Works exactly as described. Setup with the Arduino IDE was straightforward. The only downside is the limited number of GPIO pins available on this specific footprint.

Best budget Wi-Fi solution
Unbeatable price point for adding Wi-Fi capabilities to Arduino or standalone projects. The community support is huge, so finding code examples is very easy.

A: The main difference is the flash memory size. The ESP-01 typically has 512KB, while the ESP-01S has 1MB, allowing for larger firmware sketches and OTA updates.
Q: What is the maximum transmission range indoors?
A: Range depends heavily on environmental obstacles and interference. Typically, you can expect 20 to 40 meters indoors in an open office environment, less through concrete walls.

A: Yes, the ESP8266 chipset fully supports MicroPython. You can flash the firmware using esptool.py and start coding in Python immediately.
