Great compatibility with MicroPython
Flashed MicroPython onto this board in minutes. It handles sensor data logging and MQTT publishing without any lag. The built-in USB port makes it very convenient compared to older ESP modules requiring external programmers.

Easy to set up
I was worried about setting up the drivers, but the CH340 chip made it plug-and-play on my Mac. The community support for this specific board version is huge, which helped me fix my coding errors quickly.

Perfect for IoT beginners
This NodeMCU V3 board is exactly what I needed to start my smart home projects. The CH340 driver installed easily on Windows, and uploading code via the Arduino IDE was seamless. Great value for the price.

Solid board, minor pin labeling issue
The hardware performance is excellent and Wi-Fi connectivity is stable. My only complaint is that some of the GPIO pin labels on the silkscreen are slightly hard to read under low light. Otherwise, a reliable development kit.

Good power efficiency
Running on battery power for a weather station project. The deep sleep modes work as expected, extending battery life significantly. Just ensure you use a 3.3V logic level for external sensors to avoid damage.

Excellent for university projects
Bought five of these for our final year engineering project. All boards worked out of the box. The documentation online is vast, making troubleshooting easy. Highly recommend for students on a budget.
Q: Is this compatible with the Arduino IDE?
A: Absolutely. You can easily add the ESP8266 board manager URL to your Arduino IDE preferences and select 'NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module)' to start programming.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard regulator can typically supply around 200mA to 250mA at 3.3V. For high-power peripherals, it is best to use an external 3.3V power source.
Q: Can I power this board using a 9V battery?
A: While the input pin can accept up to 10V, we recommend using a regulated 5V source via the Micro-USB port or the VIN pin to ensure stability. A 9V battery connected directly to VIN works but may get warm; a regulator is advised for long-term use.
Q: Does it support Over-The-Air (OTA) updates?
