Solid choice for prototyping
Very happy with this purchase. The battery management circuit works well, and the USB-C charging is convenient. Only wish the GPIO pins were labeled more clearly on the silkscreen.

Amazing display clarity
Used this to build a custom weather station. The AMOLED blacks are true black, making the text pop. The enclosure fits perfectly in my living room setup. No overheating issues observed during continuous use.

Excellent build quality
I was worried about the durability, but the CNC enclosure is solid. The Wi-Fi range is impressive, and the Bluetooth connection remains stable even at a distance. Great value for the price.

Great hardware, minor driver setup
The board itself is fantastic with plenty of power for AI tasks. Setting up the display drivers took a little longer than expected, but once configured, it works flawlessly. The aluminum case is a nice touch.

Best ESP32-S3 board I've used
The integration of the screen and touch directly on the board saves so much wiring time. The color depth on the AMOLED is stunning for such a small form factor. Documentation could be better, but community support fills the gap.
Q: Can I connect an external camera module to this board?
A: Absolutely. The ESP32-S3 has dedicated camera interfaces (DVP). You can connect compatible OV2640 or OV5640 modules using the exposed GPIO headers, though you may need to adjust the pin configuration in your code.
Q: What is the maximum capacity for the microSD card if I add a slot?
A: While this specific model does not have a built-in SD slot, you can interface one via SPI. The ESP32-S3 supports microSD cards up to 32GB reliably, with some users reporting success up to 128GB depending on the file system used.
Q: How long does the battery last on a single charge?
A: Battery life varies significantly based on usage (screen brightness, Wi-Fi activity, etc.). In typical intermittent use with moderate brightness, you can expect 6-8 hours. With deep sleep modes enabled between readings, it can last several days.
Q: Is the CNC enclosure grounded properly for ESD protection?
A: The aluminum enclosure is anodized for durability and aesthetics, which means it is not electrically conductive on the surface. For ESD protection, please ensure you ground yourself before handling the internal components or use the provided mounting holes for chassis grounding if modified.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython out of the box?
A: Yes, the ESP32-S3 chip is fully compatible with MicroPython. You will need to flash the firmware via the USB-C port, but no additional hardware is required.
