Great value, minor pin labeling issue
The board works flawlessly with the Arduino IDE. My only complaint is that the pinout silkscreen is a bit small to read without a magnifier. Otherwise, performance is excellent.

Easy to set up for beginners
I was worried about drivers, but it was recognized immediately on my Windows laptop. The community support for ESP32-C3 is growing fast, making it easy to find example code.

Best bang for your buck
At this price point, you cannot beat the features. Dual-band wireless, plenty of memory, and a tiny footprint. I've already ordered five more for my next batch of sensors.

RISC-V architecture is fast and efficient
Switched from the older ESP8266 models to this C3 version. The power consumption is lower, and the Bluetooth LE support opens up new possibilities for my home automation sensors.

Solid build quality
Used this in a prototype robot controller. It handles multiple servo connections well, though you need to be mindful of the current limits on the 3.3V rail. Highly recommended for prototyping.

Perfect compact board for IoT projects
This SuperMini form factor is exactly what I needed for my wearable project. The USB-C connection makes programming effortless, and the Wi-Fi range is surprisingly good for such a small board.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython out of the box?
A: The board hardware is fully compatible with MicroPython. However, you will need to flash the MicroPython firmware yourself using a tool like esptool.py, as it usually comes with a default demo firmware or none at all.
Q: What is the maximum current draw per GPIO pin?
A: Each GPIO pin can source or sink up to 40mA. Please note that the total current drawn from all GPIOs combined should not exceed the chip's maximum rating to avoid damage.
Q: Is the pin header pre-soldered?
A: No, the board typically comes with a separate pin header strip in the package to allow flexibility for different mounting options. You will need to solder them on yourself.
Q: Does it work with the standard ESP32 libraries in Arduino IDE?
A: Most libraries are compatible, but you must ensure you have selected the 'ESP32C3' board variant in the Arduino IDE board manager. Some libraries specifically optimized for the dual-core ESP32 may need minor adjustments for the single-core C3.
Q: Can I power this directly from a 3.7V LiPo battery?
A: Yes, you can connect a 3.7V LiPo battery to the 5V and GND pins, as the onboard regulator can handle voltages slightly above 3.7V. However, for optimal stability, we recommend using a dedicated battery management module or ensuring the voltage stays within the 5V input tolerance.
