Reliable Cyclone IV implementation
Used this for a university thesis on digital signal processing. The EP4CE6 chip handles my algorithms without breaking a sweat. Boot times are fast and configuration via USB-Blaster works flawlessly.

Great value, minor soldering challenge
Excellent FPGA core board for the price. The stamp-hole design saves space but requires careful soldering if you are making a custom carrier board. Performance has been stable in our lab tests.

Exceeded expectations for industrial use

Good for learning and small projects
As a beginner to FPGAs, this board was manageable. The resource count is sufficient for most educational projects. Would have liked a included example project folder, but online resources filled the gap.

Q: Can I use this with standard 3.3V Arduino shields?
A: While the core supports 3.3V logic, the pin spacing and form factor are not directly compatible with standard Arduino shields. You would need to design a custom carrier board or use a breakout adapter.
Q: What is the maximum clock frequency supported by the onboard oscillator?
A: The specific frequency depends on the crystal installed on your specific batch, but the EP4CE6 device itself supports high-speed clocks up to several hundred MHz depending on your PLL configuration.
