Works but requires patience
Getting the initial handshake took some troubleshooting with my specific MCU board. Not plug-and-play for everyone, but once configured, it does exactly what it promises. Good for intermediate users.

Perfect for IoT projects

Good board, mind the voltage
The board functions well, but remember it is a 3.3V device. I had to use a logic level converter when connecting to my 5V microcontroller. Once set up correctly, the connection is rock solid.

Great for learning networking
Bought this for a university project on embedded systems. Documentation online is plentiful, which helped me understand how TCP/IP stacks work on limited hardware. Minor issue with one LED being dim, but functionality is 100%.
Q: Is this module compatible with 5V Arduino boards directly?
A: No, the ENC28J60 chip operates at 3.3V. While some boards have 5V tolerant pins, we strongly recommend using a logic level converter for the SPI lines to prevent damage to the module.
Q: What is the maximum cable length supported?
A: As a standard 10BASE-T Ethernet device, it supports cable lengths up to 100 meters (328 feet) when using Cat5 or higher quality twisted pair cables.
Q: Can I use this to host a web server?
A: Yes, the module allows your microcontroller to act as a simple web server. However, due to the 10Mbps speed and limited buffer size, it is best suited for serving static pages or basic control interfaces, not heavy media content.
Q: Does this support Power over Ethernet (PoE)?
A: No, this specific module does not support Power over Ethernet. You must provide external 3.3V power to the VCC and GND pins separately.
Q: Are sample codes available for STM32?
A: Yes, while our primary examples are for Arduino, there are many open-source libraries available on GitHub specifically for STM32 HAL and LL drivers that work with the ENC28J60.
