Great learning tool
Bought this for my university embedded systems course. Documentation could be slightly better, but once configured, it sends and receives frames perfectly. Good value for the price.

Robust build quality
We use these for quick diagnostics on our factory floor controllers. The DB9 connector is sturdy, and the board handles electrical noise very well thanks to the isolation.

Solid performance
The transceiver works exactly as expected. I deducted one star only because the silk screen printing is a bit faint, making it hard to read pin labels in low light.

Excellent for CAN bus workshops
Purchased ten units for our maker space. They are durable enough for beginners and powerful enough for advanced users. Highly recommended for educational purposes.

Perfect for automotive prototyping
This board worked flawlessly with my STM32 project. The SJA1000 and TJA1050 combination is reliable, and the optical isolation gives me peace of mind when testing on real vehicle buses.
Q: Does this board support CAN FD protocol?
A: No, this specific model utilizes the SJA1000 controller which supports standard CAN 2.0A and 2.0B protocols, not CAN FD.
Q: Does the package include the DB9 to terminal block cable?
A: The package includes the development board, a USB cable, and a screw terminal block for easy wiring. A separate DB9 breakout cable may need to be purchased depending on your specific setup needs.
Q: Is there a driver available for Windows 11?
A: Yes, the board uses a standard USB-to-UART bridge compatible with Windows 11. Drivers are typically auto-installed or available on our website under the 'Downloads' section.
Q: Can I power this board directly from a 12V car battery?
A: The board operates at 5V. While it is designed for automotive environments, you must use a regulated 5V supply or a USB connection. Do not connect 12V directly to the logic pins.
Q: What is the maximum isolation voltage rating?
A: The optical isolation provides protection up to 2500Vrms, ensuring safety and signal integrity in noisy industrial environments.
