Excellent for Electronic Competitions
We used three of these boards for our regional electronic design competition. They handled complex signal processing tasks without issues. The expansion headers made it easy to connect our custom sensor modules.

Good hardware, check your cables
The board itself is fantastic. Just note that it does not come with a USB-Blaster cable, so make sure you have one compatible with Altera devices. Once connected, compilation and downloading were seamless.

Perfect for University Projects
Bought this for my senior design project involving a soft-core NIOS processor. The board arrived quickly and worked out of the box with Quartus. The pinout diagram included in the download link was very accurate. Highly recommended for students.

Solid Core Board for Learning
As someone new to FPGA development, this board was not too overwhelming. The Cyclone IV chip is powerful enough for learning digital logic design without breaking the bank. The JTAG programmer interface is stable.

Great value, minor documentation gaps
The hardware quality is excellent for the price point. All LEDs and switches function correctly. However, the example code for the VGA output could be better documented. Once I figured it out, everything ran smoothly.

Reliable and Compact
Very compact form factor which fits well into our prototype enclosures. The power regulation is clean, and we haven't experienced any thermal issues even after hours of continuous operation during stress testing.
Q: Where can I find the schematic and pin assignment file?
A: You can download the schematic, pin assignment CSV, and sample Verilog/VHDL code from the 'Product Resources' section on our website or via the link provided in the packaging insert.
Q: Is this board compatible with Quartus Prime version 20.1?
A: Yes, the EP4CE10 chip is fully supported by Intel Quartus Prime. Version 20.1 works perfectly, though older versions like Quartus II 13.0sp1 are also commonly used for Cyclone IV devices.
Q: Does this board come with a USB-Blaster programmer cable included?
A: No, the package includes only the core board. You will need to purchase a compatible USB-Blaster or ByteBlaster MV cable separately to program the FPGA.
Q: Can I use this board to implement a NIOS II soft processor?
A: Absolutely. The EP4CE10 has sufficient logic elements and memory blocks to host a NIOS II core along with custom peripherals, making it ideal for SOPC designs.
Q: What is the voltage level of the GPIO expansion headers?
