Great for university projects
Used this for my senior design project involving wireless communication protocols. The Zynq-7020 provides enough logic resources for custom DSP implementations. Highly recommended for students.

Solid hardware, steep learning curve
The AD9363 chip performs well within its specified range. Setting up the OpenWiFi stack took some time if you aren't familiar with FPGA workflows, but the documentation provided by the community is helpful.

Perfect for SDR Learning
This board is exactly what I needed to get started with software-defined radio. The integration with PlutoSDR drivers was seamless on Linux, and the build quality feels robust. Great value for an educational tool.

Good dev board with minor heating
Functions perfectly for development and evaluation. The FPGA does get warm during extended high-load processing, so I added a small heatsink. Otherwise, no complaints about performance.

Excellent reception clarity
I was surprised by the sensitivity of the receiver front-end. It handles signals in the 2.4GHz band very cleanly. The SMA connectors are standard and easy to adapt to various antennas.
Q: Does it require an external power supply or is USB sufficient?
A: For most standard operations, the Micro-USB port provides sufficient power. However, if you are driving high-gain external amplifiers or peripherals, we recommend using the external 5V header.
Q: What is the maximum sample rate supported?
A: The AD9363 transceiver on this board supports a maximum sample rate of up to 61.44 MSPS, though practical throughput may vary based on your interface connection (USB vs Ethernet).
Q: Can I use this with MATLAB and Simulink?
A: Absolutely. This hardware is fully supported by the Communications Toolbox and SoC Blockset in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design and prototyping.
