Great for university project
Used this for my final year project on automation. The documentation provided by the seller helped me get it running with my STM32 board immediately. Very satisfied with the build quality.

Works but has a blind zone
Keep in mind there is a 25cm blind zone where it cannot detect objects. This is normal for ultrasonic sensors but caught me off guard initially. Once configured correctly, it functions well.

Perfect for my water tank project
This sensor works exactly as described. I used it to monitor the water level in my rain barrel and the waterproof probe holds up well against constant moisture. The range is accurate within the specified limits.

Good accuracy, cable could be longer
The measurement consistency is great for my robotics application. My only complaint is that 2.5 meters was just short for my chassis setup, so I had to extend the wiring carefully. Otherwise, solid module.

Reliable distance measurement
I integrated this into a parking assist prototype. It responds quickly and the UART interface makes it easy to read data without complex timing loops like the standard HC-SR04.
Q: Does this work well for measuring liquid levels with foam?
A: Ultrasonic sensors can struggle with heavy foam as it absorbs sound waves. It works best on clear liquid surfaces. For foamy liquids, results may vary.
Q: Is the entire module submersible in water?
A: Only the probe head is waterproof (IP67). The electronics board and cable connections must remain dry and above water level.
Q: What is the minimum detection distance?
A: The minimum measurable distance is approximately 25cm. Objects closer than this may not be detected reliably due to the ultrasonic blind zone.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a 3.3V microcontroller?
A: The module operates at 5V. For 3.3V logic boards, we recommend using a voltage divider or level shifter on the TX/RX lines to prevent damage.
Q: Is it possible to extend the cable length?
A: Yes, you can extend the cable using shielded wire to prevent signal interference. We recommend keeping extensions under 5 meters for optimal stability.
