Good gift idea
Purchased this as a birthday gift for my nephew. He loves the water writing cloth specifically. The only improvement would be including a few more sheets of practice paper.

Durable and well-made

Everything you need in one box
No need to buy separate items. The inkstone is heavy enough to stay put, and the brush size is ideal for learning basic strokes. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Great value starter kit
The quality of the brush is surprisingly good for the price. The ink flows smoothly, and the storage box keeps everything organized. I deducted one star only because the rice paper is a bit thin.

Perfect for my third grader!
My daughter just started learning calligraphy in school, and this set has everything she needs. The water cloth is a fantastic feature because we can practice without making a mess with real ink every time.

Q: How long does the water take to dry on the practice cloth?
A: Depending on room temperature and humidity, the water marks usually disappear within 5 to 10 minutes, allowing for immediate reuse.
Q: Can the water writing cloth be used with real ink?
A: No, the water writing cloth is designed specifically for use with plain water. Using real ink on it may stain the fabric permanently.
Q: Is the ink washable from clothes if spilled?
A: Yes, the included black sumi ink is water-based and generally washes out of most fabrics if treated immediately with cold water.
Q: Is this suitable for left-handed users?
