Excellent projection
I needed an instrument that could be heard in a small ensemble without amplification. The Minyin 402 projects beautifully. The mallets included are decent quality too.

Perfect for my music exams
I bought the Rosewood version for my conservatory entrance exam. The tone is incredibly clear and sustains well. It arrived perfectly tuned and the case is sturdy enough for travel.

Great value for beginners
As a teacher, I recommend this model to all my new students. The Color Wood option is affordable without sacrificing sound quality. Setup was easy right out of the box.

Solid student instrument
My daughter has been using this for six months for her weekly lessons. It holds its tune well despite temperature changes in our home. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Arrived two days earlier than expected. The packaging was secure with extra foam. The sound is warm and balanced across all registers. Highly recommended for study purposes.

Beautiful craftsmanship
The Pearwood finish is stunning in person. The bridges are set precisely, making intonation very stable. It sounds much more expensive than it is.
Q: How often does this yangqin need to be restrung?
A: With regular practice, strings typically last 6 to 12 months. We recommend keeping a spare set of strings on hand, which can be purchased separately in our accessories section.
Q: Does this come with a stand or do I need to buy one separately?
A: The Minyin 402 typically comes with a folding wooden stand included in the carrying case, but please check the specific listing options as some bundles may vary.
Q: Can I use metal mallets with this instrument?
A: We strongly recommend using the included bamboo mallets or soft-headed mallets designed for yangqin. Metal mallets can damage the strings and the bridge inserts over time.
Q: What is the difference between the Rosewood and Pearwood models?
A: The primary difference is the tonal character and aesthetics. Rosewood offers a deeper, richer resonance, while Pearwood provides a brighter, clearer tone. Both are excellent for professional study.
Q: Is this instrument suitable for advanced players or just beginners?
A: While marketed towards beginners and exams, the 402 model is a standard professional configuration used by many advanced students and semi-professional musicians due to its reliable mechanics and sound quality.
