Perfect Upgrade from Student Model

Lovely Sound, Needs Minor Setup
The instrument sounds wonderful once I adjusted the soundpost slightly. The wood quality is exceptional for the price point. It's a very responsive instrument for both classical and folk styles.

Great Value for a Handcrafted Instrument
As a teacher, I recommended this to an advanced student. The setup was excellent right out of the box. The only reason for four stars is that the case latches felt a bit flimsy, but the viola itself is superb.

Beautiful Craftsmanship
You can tell this was made by hand. The varnish is smooth, the edges are clean, and the fit of the neck is perfect. It has a rich, dark sound that fills the room easily.

Stunning Visuals and Warm Tone
The tiger-stripe pattern on the back is absolutely breathtaking in person. Beyond looks, the tone is warm and resonant, perfect for my chamber group rehearsals. It responded immediately to my bowing without any break-in period.

A: This specific listing includes the viola and a high-quality oblong case. Bows and rosin are sold separately to allow musicians to choose their preferred weight and hair type.
Q: Can this handle professional performance settings?
A: Absolutely. While accessible for serious beginners, the solid woods and hand-varnish provide the projection and tonal complexity required for semi-professional and professional performances.
Q: Is the bridge pre-fitted or does it need adjustment?
A: The Aubert bridge is cut and fitted by our luthiers before shipping. However, due to changes in humidity during transit, we always recommend having a local luthier do a final check and adjustment for optimal playability.
Q: What is the return policy if the tone doesn't suit me?
A: We offer a 30-day home trial period. If the instrument does not meet your expectations, you may return it in its original condition for a full refund, minus shipping costs.
Q: How do I care for the oil varnish finish?
A: Oil varnish is durable but benefits from gentle care. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off rosin dust after every session. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners, as they can damage the oil finish over time.
