Exceptional tone for the price

I upgraded to this CHRISTINA M06C from a student model, and the difference is night and day. The resonance in the lower register is rich and warm, perfect for chamber music. The handmade craftsmanship is evident in the varnish and fit.

Very pleased with purchase

The instrument is lovely. The ebony fittings are smooth, and the bridge was carved correctly. It took a few days to open up fully, but now it sounds fantastic. The case provided is also quite sturdy.

Great project instrument

Solid solo grade viola with good potential. It arrived well-set up, though I did swap the strings immediately to match my preference. Once adjusted, it projects beautifully in a mid-sized hall.

A: Yes, all CHRISTINA handmade violas come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty covering structural defects and craftsmanship issues. Normal wear and tear or damage due to accidents are not covered.

Q: Is the 406mm size suitable for an average adult woman?

A: A 16-inch (406mm) viola is a standard full size. Suitability depends more on arm length and hand span than gender. We recommend measuring your arm length; if you comfortably play a 15.5-inch viola, you can likely manage this size, but trying it in person is always best.

Q: Does this viola come pre-strung, and what brand of strings are installed?

A: Yes, the CHRISTINA M06C comes pre-strung with decent quality factory strings suitable for initial play. However, many players choose to upgrade to premium strings like Pirastro or D'Addario to fully unlock the solo grade potential.

Q: Does the included bow need to be re-haired before use?

A: The included bow is ready to play out of the box with fresh horsehair. However, as with any new bow, you will need to apply rosin thoroughly before the first use to generate sound.
