Perfect for my daughter's Grade 5 exam

Beautiful craftsmanship
I was impressed by the attention to detail on the varnish and the fit of the seams. It responds well to bowing and has a clear upper register. A solid choice for intermediate players.

Good projection in ensemble
I use this for our community orchestra. It cuts through the mix nicely without being harsh. The only reason for 4 stars is that the strings it came with were average, but swapping them made it sing.

The figured maple on the back is stunning. It took a few days to settle after shipping, but once set up, the sound is rich and projecting. The 14-inch size fits me perfectly as an adult beginner.
